Mweya Safari Lodge – Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda

Mweya is located in Kasese District, Rwenzururu sub-region, Western Uganda. It lies within Queen Elizabeth National Park- the second largest national park and the only Lodge situated in the heart of the park overlooking the Kazinga channel. The location of Mweya is approximately 66 kilo-metres (41 mi), by road, south of Kasese, the district headquarters and the largest town in the sub-region. This location is on the northeastern shores of Lake Edward at the point where the Kazinga Channel joins the Lake.

Mweya Safari Lodge offers a wonderful view of the mighty Rwenzori Mountain or known as Mountains of the moon.

The lodge has several self contained rooms which have mosquito netted curtains, a powerful ceiling fan and a veranda that offers a spectacular view of Kazinga Channel. All rooms have private balconies with stunning views overlooking Lake Albert and the Kazinga Channel.

Tourist activities enjoyed while at Mweya Safari Lodge:

Boat cruise – you can make advance boat or instant booking and then enjoy the sailing on Kazinga Channel. Expect to see a variety of animals like hippos, crocodiles, warthogs, buffaloes among other birds like shoebill stocks.

Game drives through the great lakes region, mweya peninsular, Kasenyi among others. Expect to encounter elephants, lions, kobs, antelopes, water bucks, among others.

Nature safaris to the great lakes region – salt mining area and so on.
